WHPCD: 11th October 2008:
World Hospice & Palliative Care Day is unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the World. The main aim of the day is to improve care for those living with a life-limiting illness.
The theme for 2008 was Hospice and Palliative Care: a human right, highlighting that without access to the care they need, people suffer horrific and unacceptable levels of pain and distress that amounts to violation of their human rights.
Call had sounded: Come and join us at Aastha Hospice, between 12pm-4pm for Photo Exibition and together we can make our voices heard.
There was also opportunity to sign up to the
Declaration on palliative care as a human right:
Pain declaration signed by people of state of Uttar Pradesh, City - Lucknow, India.
